Fall Pictures

Pictures are a little difficult with an 11 month old, but even harder doing them by yourself.  I used the self timer on all these pictures.  I had big plans to do fun fall pictures with a photographer, but just ran out of time and then peak leaf weekend hit -plus, we will be busy the next 4 weekends in a row, so I just wanted them done, so I did them myself.   I still have a lot to learn about all the settings and lighting, so I was a little disappointed with some of the color quality, photoshop helped a little.

Love this one of my boys
  This one cracks me up
Love this little guy!
Caught a sweet moment of Brian playing with Hudson while I was messing with the settings
Timer went off before we were ready, but it turned out kind of cute, anyway
Messing around trying to get Hudson to smile
We tried a while later- after nap time, but Hudson really wasn't interested
Me and my baby
Hudson was still not interested
One final picture to wrap the day
Oh, well, maybe we'll have better luck next year

Flashback Friday

It's been a while since I have embarrassed myself or others on here.  I dug out some old photos -these are all pictures of pictures so the quality is pretty bad.

My brother and I making sugar cookies for Christmas-love the curtains and I'm not sure what is hanging in the corner

My California girls - Jen and Jesy

Mr. Vanderkolk's 12th grade English class - such a great teacher!  He was one of my favorites.  I was sad to learn that he passed away of cancer a few months back.  (I'm back right with a red and white striped shirt with a jean shirt over it) - Amanda's Thompson Tigers shirt cracks me up

70's day at school -and this picture quality makes it look as if it was taken in the 70's
Mandy, Kami, Kim, Me, Brad, and Zane

Mandy, Jenna Lee, Haley, and Me

VBS - ?year/maybe 3rd or 4th grade

Katie, Carley, Me, Megan, Aubrey and Stephanie - I think this was the last day of school sophomore year
Such fun memories!

Quick Trip

My mom came down for a quick visit - she needed a Hudson fix.  She got here about 9:30 Tuesday morning and left just a little bit ago and we miss her already. We did a couple of fun crafts that I'll post later (I wish I inherited that gene, but sadly, I didn't).  Hudson was completely spoiled and loved every minute of it.
My dad had to work and wasn't able to come.  We tried to get a few pictures with this outfit on to try and include Grandpa, but Hudson wasn't so cooperative.
The closest I got to a smile and the little stinker was turned away from me.

Happy 11 months

You are 11 months old today.
You weigh about 21 lbs

Pictures were really difficult again this month - you're just too busy.

I really feel like you just kind of exploded this past month on things you learned.  You know to point to your nose when we say, "Where's your nose?" and poke yourself in your eye when we say, "Where are your eyes?".  You like to brush your own hair.  You like to throw a ball back and forth.  Apparently, your Dad and I say, "Oh, No!" a lot and you have started putting both of your hands on your head.  You have started signing the word, "please."  You know what to do when we say, "Sit down" or "Stand up".

You are still saying da da da da da da,  na na na na, mum mum mum, ba, ba, ba, ro, ro, ro, and no, no, no.  You make several other sounds that I'm not sure how to describe.  We love hearing you jabber. You still  yell out in excitement.

We love watching you wave and dance - so...cute!  You love dancing and anytime you hear music you bust out your moves.   You love waving.  You wave really easily and at everyone.  You play patty cake and shake your head back and forth (you're not saying "no", it's more of a dance move).  You make a cute "scrunchy" face.  You point at things and point and wave and say, "No, no, no."  -Apparently I say the word No a lot.

You are wearing 12 month onesies, but 3-6 month jeans.

You are giving the sweetest hugs and kisses lately.

You are still eating a lot!  You are still taking 4 bottles per day - approx 16-18 oz.   You are eating cereal and a fruit in the am, and a fruit and a vegetable, yogurt, and cottage cheese at lunch, and a fruit and a vegetable, macaroni or pasta, and a meat  in the evening.   I am still preparing everything.   You are eating avocados, sweet potatoes, bananas, carrots, peas, green beans, peaches, apples, pears, spinach, broccoli, pasta, macaroni, ground turkey, chicken and puffs.  I added macaroni, ground turkey, and chicken this past month.  You love your sippy cup.

I tried again a while later, but you still didn't want anything to do with getting your picture taken

You are still wearing a size 3 diaper, but I have just started putting you in a size 4 at bedtime.  Diaper changes have actually been better lately.  You are starting to listen to the word, "No."
Some of the toys you played with this past month was a lady bug that lights up and talks, scooter type toy, balls, a car that you push around, opening and closing everything, and Elmo.  Still, your favorite thing by far was crawling around and pulling yourself up.  You are walking around the furniture.  You have started to let go of things and have taken a couple of steps, but not walking, yet.  You will hold our hand(s) and walk.

You had some separation anxiety last month in the nursery, but once we're gone, you calm down.

Your eyes look a little darker this month - dark grey/blue.
Your hair is blonde.

You keep getting more and more fun.

You are sleeping about 11 1/2 hours per night.   You go to sleep pretty easily, thankfully.  You stay awake 2 1/2-4 hours at a time now. Naps changed again this past month.  You have been sleeping about an hour for your 1st nap, but only 20-30 min for your second nap.
You had 4 teeth come in this past month - two on the top and two more on the bottom.  You now have 6 teeth.

I had to take you to the doctor for allergies - poor thing, they're moderate to severe.  You are on 2 medicines, hopefully they kick in soon. You've had a runny nose for 2 weeks straight, thankfully you haven't had any other symptoms.
You are usually a pretty happy baby.  You are quite the ham - you love having everyone's attention and you smile at everyone.   Everyone comments how happy you are and how long your eye lashes  are.

You are definitely more interested in playing these days

You are our sweet, precious gift from God.
We love you!  Happy 11 months

It's Beginning To Look A Lot Like Fall

I love fall in Kentucky!  It's just so beautiful and the weather is usually pretty nice, too.  We've had our firepit out a few times in the evening after Hudson has gone to bed.

Pure Sweetness

Hudson has become so affectionate lately, it melts my heart.

Just Another Day At The Office

After my Mom's group today, Hudson and I stopped at Brian's office and ate lunch with him.  We usually eat lunch with him a couple of days a month, but we always go out, but today we stayed and ate in his office.  Hudson enjoyed checking everything out - he was especially curious about the outlet and all the cords that are just over Brian's right shoulder in the picture.
Brian let Hudson draw all over his white board.
Another Engineer in the family?

Happy Birthday

Happy 1st Birthday Precious Kaitlyn!

We hope you'll have a fun day.  We can't wait to see the little girl that you'll become.  We know God has big plans for you.  Psalm 118:24  "This is the day the Lord has made;  let us rejoice and be glad in it."
Brian and I love you and your boyfriend loves you, too!  He can't keep his eyes off you.
You're such a good encourager.

You are a sweet precious gift from God!
Happy Birthday!

The Park

Saturday Brian and I took Hudson to the park for a little bit.  It's so much fun for us watching him have fun.
This was Hudson's first time going down the tube slide and he ended up turning around and going down backwards.
-This last picture was taken a different day, but I love it because Hudson has just started becoming a cuddly baby.  From 6 weeks on, he has been busy, so I love that he actually curled up on my lap and fell asleep.

The Pumpkin Patch

Hudson and I visited Boyd's Orchard today with my Mom's Group. It was a perfect day, in the 70's.  Hudson had a blast and loved looking at everything.
I am looking forward to the day he is big enough to go down that slide - I think he'll have a blast.
A slightly smaller slide for even younger kids - Poor Hudson was even too small for that one.
We went on a fun hayride and Hudson just sat quietly on my lap and took everything in.  He never just sits still on my lap, so he must have really been curious.
Just chillin' during the ride - I didn't know if he'd sit quietly or not, so I gave him his paci to start with, but he did so great I took it away from him (I usually only give him his paci when he's sleeping or in the car).
The petting zoo and super happy kids.
Hudson LOVED the petting zoo!  He kept giggling and laughing when the animals would lick his fingers.
Hudson saw the other kids feeding the animals so he was looking for something to give them, also.  He tried giving them grass, but they weren't interested.  I didn't think to bring cash with me, so I couldn't buy any food to let him feed them.
Little guy loves swinging!
"Mom, will you buy this one for me, please?"
Alex and Hudson trying to figure out what the excitement is over a pumpkin.
Quick photo of the two of us
Amanda and Alex - he was a little too busy to be sitting on mom's lap
Random picture, I know, but, there is a castle right outside of Lexington that we drove by so I wanted to snap a picture of it.  It's kind of shocking every time I see it.
We had a lot of fun, but I was sad Brian wasn't there.  He would have loved watching Hudson take it all in.  We hope to make it to another orchard in the next couple of weeks -I'm dying to buy apples and apple doughnuts, and cider and more pumpkins.
