So Much Fun

Thursday was such a fun day!  It was pretty close to perfect.  We met my parents for breakfast, visited with Julie and Kaitlyn, visited with Brad, Sheri, Addie, and Drew, and then Chris, Brittney and Cooper flew in from Texas.  We packed in as much as we could.  The roads were a sheet of ice in the morning, but cleared up by the afternoon.

The best picture we could get with our little ones.  Hudson is obsessed with kitchen utensils, bowls, pots and pots.  He did drop the pot, but wouldn't give up the spoon. -Love these two girls so much!
We stopped at Brad and Sheri's house after we left Julie's.  Addie is the sweetest and most precious little girl.  She's such a bright little light.  She loved Hudson and kept taking his picture.
Love this family so much!
Chris, Brittney, and Cooper arrived about 4 pm.  Here is one of our many attempts to get pictures of the boys.  Once again, Hudson wouldn't give up the spoon.
Hudson is not real big on sitting still these days.  Cooper was a little angel and sat still.  The boys have such opposite personalities.

Outtakes:
Trying to take the spoon away ended with tears, so we gave the spoon back.  Kaitlyn thinks Hudson is crazy!
Picture attempt  #300
Attempt #400
One of the best days of the year!!

Girlfriend?

Hudson might have found himself a little girlfriend while we were in Indiana.  We were visiting friends when the two decided to have a little kiss.
Hudson then had to go back for a second kiss.
We hope Kaitlyn's Daddy doesn't have a shot gun aimed at us the next time we decide to visit.

We just got back from Indiana today, so I need some time to edit pictures and get another post ready.

Winter Wonderland

Our original plan was to drive to Indiana Thursday morning, but a blizzard warning was issued for Wednesday, so we decided to drive up Tuesday night.  That ended up being a smart decision.  It has been absolutely beautiful -love all the snow!  It snowed really hard all day.

Brian and I got out for a little while this morning, we had a few errands to run.  It was fun getting out.

This picture is from Brian's parents front porch.  I love looking out over their yard and the field.

 Front porch

Brian and I decided to snow plow and shovel Dick and Mary's driveway.  We had a little cabin fever.  That's always such a good work-out.  Dick had us park our van in their garage, which was really nice.

Of course I wanted a turn trying out the blower - it wasn't as easy as I thought it would be

We actually spent most of the day inside playing.  Hudson's expression in this picture says, "Mom, please stop taking my picture."

Hudson loves pushing this grocery cart and eating all of the food in it and feeding everyone else, too.

We ended up with about 4" of snow -not quite the blizzard everyone had expected or hoping for.  We took Hudson out for a few minutes and he had a blast.   At first, he wasn't quite sure, but quickly a smile showed up on his face.

I did my best to pull the two of them around the yard for a couple of minutes, but wasn't moving very fast, so Brian ended up taking over.

Fun in the snow!

Driving up here ended up being a smart and fun decision.  We had a great day!

Come Let Us Adore Him

Come, let us adore Him
Come, let us adore Him
O come, let us adore Him
Christ, the Lord
O come, let us adore Him
Christ, the Lord

Happy Birthday, Jesus!

"Jesus is not just the Reason for the Season, Jesus is the Reason!  The reason for everything.  The reason my birth and every birth has any meaning."  Jon Weece.

Luke 2: 1-20 "In those days Caesar Augustus issued a decree that a census should be taken of the entire Roman world.  (This was the first census that took place while Quirinius was governor of Syria.)  And everyone went to their own town to register.
So Joseph also went up from the town of Nazareth in Galilee to Judea, to Bethlehem the town of David, because he belonged to the house and line of David. He went there to register with Mary, who was pledged to be married to him and was expecting a child.  While they were there, the time came for the baby to be born, and she gave birth to her firstborn, a son. She wrapped him in cloths and placed him in a manger, because there was no guest room available for them.
And there were shepherds living out in the fields nearby, keeping watch over their flocks at night.  An angel of the Lord appeared to them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were terrified.  But the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid. I bring you good news that will cause great joy for all the people.  Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is the Messiah, the Lord.  This will be a sign to you: You will find a baby wrapped in cloths and lying in a manger.”
Suddenly a great company of the heavenly host appeared with the angel, praising God and saying,
“Glory to God in the highest heaven,
and on earth peace to those on whom his favor rests.”
When the angels had left them and gone into heaven, the shepherds said to one another, “Let’s go to Bethlehem and see this thing that has happened, which the Lord has told us about.”
So they hurried off and found Mary and Joseph, and the baby, who was lying in the manger.  When they had seen him, they spread the word concerning what had been told them about this child,  and all who heard it were amazed at what the shepherds said to them.  But Mary treasured up all these things and pondered them in her heart.  The shepherds returned, glorifying and praising God for all the things they had heard and seen, which were just as they had been told."

Praying peace, love and joy for you all!

Merry Christmas!

Christmas Eve Eve

My parent's drove here from Indiana and got here last night.  It was so great seeing them.  They're staying for several days.  We started our day off with a beautiful service at church.  I love seeing the sanctuary lit up with candles.

Love this picture of my dad and Hudson
Earlier this evening we went to the Kentucky Horse Park and did their drive through Christmas lights.  They're all so pretty!  Hudson wasn't super into it, but every now and then he would point and smile.

The Horse Park had one spot where you could park and walk around and check out several exhibits - Santa, Frosty, train ride, food vendors, and the petting zoo.  We decided to take Hudson in the petting zoo and he had a really good time feeding the animals.

Still at the park
Walking back to the van
Brian and I got away for a few hours today and had my parent's watch Hudson.  We ate at Bonefish Grill and did some last minute shopping.  The food was so...good and it was nice to be able to just sit and talk.  We had such a fun day!

Christmas Baking

Hudson was having a total breakdown today for some reason when I was getting ready (Brian was playing with him and nothing was making him happy), so I quit getting ready and decided to let him help me make some brownies and cookies. He really is learning things so quickly these days and loves being my little helper.
Hudson helped me pour in the water and oil
Helped Brian mix the ingredients
Helped add chocolate chips
After Hudson's nap,we decided to have homemade pizzas for lunch
Hudson helped roll out his dough
He's really becoming my little sous chef
The finished product - spinach pizza (I know, not one of the better pizzas, but I wanted him to have a vegetable) --First time trying pizza and he loved it!!!
We woke up to snow today -it was so pretty

Christmas Vacation

Brian's vacation officially started today.  It was so nice having him sleep in and hang out all day with us.  He has just under 2 weeks off.

We worked on a little craft project thanks to Pinterest - I think it turned out pretty cute.  Hudson loved helping me

We hung out in our jammies for half the day.  Hudson's comb-over cracks me up in this picture

Part of the day was spent wrestling

And another part of our day was spent playing with a big tube
We're so excited for the next 2 weeks!

A Bit Late...

But too important to not mention.  On December 9th, Brian and I celebrated 6 years of marriage.  I love being married to him- he's loving, kind, generous,...  I really could go on and on.  I'm so thankful God brought us together.

Here are a few of our earlier pictures
I think this was our first picture together- skiing in Michigan
