Grandparent's Weekend

My parent's came down for the weekend and we had a really great time.  They got to watch Hudson's soccer practice and really enjoyed seeing him run around.  We had amazing weather on Saturday, but some rain on Sunday.  They came on the perfect weekend, Spring is in full bloom here - the cherry trees, azaleas, dogwoods, lilac bushes, apple trees, bright green grass, etc, it's just gorgeous right now.  Hudson spent the night with them in the hotel and did some swimming with my dad.  He loved spending quality time with them.  Beckett loved all the extra special attention, too.

Such a fun time - so sad they're gone already.  Time flew by too fast.

Happy 9 months!

~Beckett~
Happy 9 months!

Sadly, you were back to being sick a lot this past month.  You had the stomach flu for 10 days, got a double ear infection, and popped your 1st tooth all at the same time.  Poor thing, you just can't seem to catch a break.  You lost 1.5#.  You also slept really poorly this past month (can't say I blame you since you felt so bad).  Also, you had another ear infection at today's well baby visit- one more infection and you have to have tubes.

Thankfully the weather has been a lot warmer so we have been outside a lot - from walks to picnics, to going to the park, to playing outback.  You seem to really enjoy walks.  You love looking at everything and if we're not home within 20 minutes, you fall asleep.

You weigh 18 lbs 7 oz =18% --you keep getting skinnier and skinnier.
Your length is 28" = 40%  --they must have messed up your height the last time because you were 28" then and in the 90%, today you were still 28" and only in the 40%, I had the nurse re-check, so they were probably wrong the last time, odds are you grew and they measured wrong.

You are army crawling and kind of pulling yourself up on everything.
You went to the church nursery for the first time this past month and did great, they said you even took a nap.  You, Hudson, and me traveled to Indiana for 4 nights Hudson's Spring Break.  You are a great traveler.  We had a fun time, but that was part of the time when you were sick.

You sleep about 11 hours at night and take 2 naps, sometimes they last 20 minutes and sometimes we have to wake you up.  As long as you're healthy, you sleep through the night.   You like sleeping on your stomach up in the corner of the crib.

You still wear a size 3 diaper and 9-12 month clothes.  You are not a fan of diaper changes.   You do not want to hold still.  We've added squash, sweet potatoes, garden veggies,
You are saying, "yeah, yeah, yeah" and occasionally "ma ma ma", in addition to "da da da" and "blah blah blah"

We have a bubble gun and you love it!  You especially love watching your brother use it and laugh so hard.  We've also discovered you love bigger balls and love having them rolled at you, you laugh so hard.

I think you are a Mommy's Boy!  I love it- Hudson is a total Daddy's Boy.
You are our sweet, precious joy baby!  We love you!

Spring Break

For Hudson's Spring Break, we traveled to Indiana for 4 days.
We had a really good time overall, but poor Beckett was sick.  I had to take him to the UTC and they diagnosed him with a double ear infection and the stomach flu.  Poor thing lost 1.5 pounds.  He was really sick for just under 2 weeks.  He's such a little toughie.

We spent 1 night at Brian's parent's house and spent the remaining nights at my parent's house.
It's been really hard for us to tell when he has an ear infection because he always holds his ears when he's eating.
Hudson loved helping bake cupcakes with Gigi.
My Dad, Hudson and Beckett
Hudson really wanted a silly picture
It was so nice to get away and have some fun with the grandparents.  Brian stayed home and worked and worked on some house projects.  We really missed him.

Happy 8 months!

~Beckett~
Happy 8 months!
Pictures were difficult this month because you are a boy on the go and don't have time to sit still.

All I can say is, what a little joy you are!  You have finally been healthy for about a week now, you haven't been healthy this long in a row since before Christmas.  You have been even happier, if that is at all possible.

You are eating more solids, you are up to avocados, bananas, squash, carrots, peas pears, and green beans.  You are taking a bottle 4-5 x day.  We just started introducing formula to you this past month.
Sleep is still an issue occasionally. As long as you are healthy, you sleep through the night, but when you're sick you get up anywhere from 1-5x/night.  You still never took to your paci.
You are wearing a size 3 diaper and size 9-12 month clothes.   You probably weigh about 17 1/2 pounds.

You say, "Da da" and "blah, blah, blah".  You can wave and clap.
You love riding around and being carried in the Moby.  For some reason, the nick name The Beckster has started to stick.
You still absolutely adore your brother and think he is the funnies thing you have ever seen.  He always makes you laugh.

You're not quite crawling, yet, but you're very close, you're army crawling.
You've started showing a little separation and stranger anxiety.  I pray that it doesn't get as bad as what Hudson's was.
You still have beautiful blue eyes.

You travel very well and usually fall asleep very quickly when we're in the car.
We love you so much!  You're such a sweet little blessing!  We believe God has big plans for you.
We love you!

Another Winter Storm

Last week we were hit with another storm and got 17" of snow.  17"!!!  Lexington is not equipped to handle that much snow and EVERYTHING was closed down.   Until the end of February, we were actually having a really mild winter, but then everything changed.
We had plenty of play time.
Brian and Hudson built an igloo.

Our neighbor let us borrow his snowblower

We're ready for Spring!  Thankfully it's going to be 65 degrees today!  Yay!  Go away winter!

Snowmageddon Pics

My super talented friend and neighbor took some pictures for us the other day.  We braved the elements and took some quick shots.  I think we were in and out in about 5 minutes.
Our pretty neighborhood
So I've decided my hair looks awful!  I've had my natural color for the past almost 6 months (I've tried to keep my hair simple with the boys) but I'm now ready to go back to light blonde after seeing these pictures.  Plus, I really need some color, I look so pale.
My sweet little guy
Trying to get Hudson to smile for 1 picture
Beckett was thinking, "Would you hurry up and smile so we can get back inside?!!"
Thanks, Amanda!  I'm really glad we got out and got some nice family photos.

Winter Storm Octavia

Winter Storm Octavia hit Lexington/Central Kentucky yesterday and dumped 10.1" snow.  It snowed from 6 am to 6 pm and it snowed hard!  It was beautiful to watch, plus it's the fluffy powdery snow, we usually have wetter, heavy snow.
I tried getting a family picture- well, I got 3 of us looking at the camera and smiling.

Brian worked from home and got out 3 different times to shovel our driveway.   Hudson was "helping"

The city is pretty much shut down.   The governor declared a state of emergency.  Doctor offices, the mall, Kroger, plus a a ton of other businesses are closed.  We have yet to see a plow.
Hudson enjoyed being thrown in the snow.

I got a cool shot of Brian jumping in the snow

What a fun time!  Looks like we'll be snowed in a little longer
