Welcome, Summer!

Please stay a long time!  We're loving every minute of the nice hot weather.  You can't see it very well in this picture, but we got the sprinkler out one evening and Hudson loved playing in it.
We've been to the library a lot lately and we've sat through the Mini-Moles Story Time.  The librarian, Miss Mary Lou is great!  Not only does she read to the kids, but also sings, dances, blows bubbles, and does crafts with the kids.  The kids are dancing in this picture.
Miss Mary Lou is blowing bubbles on the kids in this picture.  It looks like Hudson is crying, but he wasn't.  Bubble time is his favorite time.  That's when he really gets independent and breaks away from me.
Hudson and I met Brian for lunch one day and we ordered Hudson a meal off the kids menu.  He ate his entire meal!!!  There was a ton of food!  We are going to be in trouble when he is a teenager.  That's his -I'm A Serious Eater -face.
Today we went to the local splash park and we had a blast!  It was so nice and fun.  I tried getting a picture when we first got there, but Hudson was too excited and wanted in the water.  He was trying to jump out of Brian's arms to get into the water.
He literally took off into the water and didn't look back.
Finally, after about an hour, I got a picture - he was smiling 1 second before I snapped this.
He loved this spray station and we spent 90% of our time up there.
After we got back Hudson wore his swim vest and cape and Brian's socks for a couple of hours.  It's the latest look of Superheros.
We love, love, love Summer!

Last Weekend

Saturday morning we went downtown and walked around the farmer's market.  It's one of our favorite things to do and the weather was absolutely perfect.  We walked around downtown a little bit and ended up at the fountains.  They're so pretty.  Of course, Hudson wanted out of his stroller and wanted in the water.  We had to seriously distract him to get his mind off the water.  Later in the afternoon we got Hudson's pool and water table out and let him play for a couple of hours.  Popsicles and pools- a great combo.
After Hudson went to bed, we started a fire and smores and just sat outside and enjoyed God's beautiful creation.
Sunday, Hudson was back in his pool and ended up really enjoying playing in this bucket.

Happy Father's Day

We've had a great weekend celebrating Brian.  Hopefully we spoiled him and let him know how much he is loved and appreciated.
The best picture we could get
Hudson wasn't interested in smiling, but he he did listen to me when I told him to give Brian a kiss.
Hudson says, "Daddy, I want You to have a great day!"
Also, Happy Father's Day to my Dad and Brian's Dad!  Wish we could have seen both of you.  I'm so thankful for the awesome men in my life.    Love you all!

Few Extra Pix From Our Weekend

We had a great weekend with both of our families.  Hudson loved being the center of attention. Our parent's stayed at the same hotel so it was easy to meet up with them and Hudson got to swim a few times.  I definitely need to get him to the pool as much as possible this summer - he loves it!!!
Sweet kisses from Grandpa!

Hudson was introduced to pool and really enjoyed knocking the balls around.

Clapping for himself after a job well done!

We took Hudson to a park to play for a little bit before his baby dedication.  -Clearly, Hudson has zero personality.

Our families left about 3 pm on Sunday and about 4 pm a storm came in.  We were outside playing when it hit, and moved to the garage, but Hudson loved getting rained on and kept running outside and would lift his face up to the sky.  --I love this picture of him!!!
So...thankful that our families were able to spend the weekend with us and be there for Hudson's dedication.

Dedication Day

Today was Hudson's Baby Dedication (well, formal dedication).  Our church only offers it once a year and I missed the sign up date last year.  We were so blessed that both sets of parents could come down for the weekend and witness.  We have been praying for our kid(s) for years and today was truly humbling to dedicate him back to God.   Hudson brings us so much joy.  We pray that God has big plans for our little guy.

Attempt to get a picture of my boys
My turn was a little more successful

Family picture attempt - the best we could get
We let Hudson run a little bit since he wasn't interested in pictures at all

Still just not interested in pictures

Too busy to sit still for a couple of pictures!
Completely over pictures!!
Waiting for the service to begin
Sweetheart Michelle Frank led the dedication and had us pray over Hudson's feet, hands, head, and heart.

There were 44 babies dedicated to the Lord today.

Brian is pretty far behind me- there just wasn't room for all the families to stand together, sadly.

We promised to pray for and with Hudson that his knowledge of God would grow and that he would have a relationship with God.  We promised to take our own relationship with God seriously so that we can be spiritual examples to our kids.  And we promised to do all that we can so that in God's timing, Hudson will begin a relationship with Him through faith in Jesus Christ and to follow that faith with repentence and baptism.

Our dear friends, Todd and Kristin had their new baby Kaden dedicated, also.

One final family picture --such a special day for our family.

WHY GOD MADE LITTLE BOYS
God made a world of His dreams of magic mountains, oceans and streams, prairies and plains and wooded land, then paused and thought, "I need someone to stand on top of the mountains, to conquer the seas, explore the plains and climb trees.  Someone to start out small and grow sturdy and strong like a tree."  And so...He created boys, full of spirit and fun, to explore and conquer, to romp and run, with dirty faces and banged-chins, with courteous hearts and boyish grins.  When He had completed the task He'd begun, He surely said, "That's a job well done."
