Happy Halloween

Today some people from my office dressed up for Halloween.  My costume was lame, but I still enjoyed dressing up.  I googled costumes for pregnant women and just didn't see anything that really caught my eye, so today I ended up as a leopard.  Vickie and I were both leopards - not planned at all.

Vickie (leopard), Brittany (ladybug), Carol (Granny), Camille, Me, Bridget (beer)

I've only ever had 1 costume that I have actually liked - Madonna from 2 years ago.  As a kid I was always a homeless person, I never had anything cool.  I would have gone as Madonna again if I could have fit in it.  I don't know if anyone would have gotten "Pregnant Madonna."
Next year I have big plans for the 3 of us.

Baby Shower #4

Today I had another great shower!  Our friends threw us a couple's shower. I feel so blessed to be surrounded by such wonderful, loving people.  The decorations were adorable and the food was delicious.  It was really fun having both the girls and guys there.  The colors were turquoise and orange -so...cute!

Check out the cake! Amanda baked the cake and Julia decorated it.  It was as delicious as it was cute.  I have some really talented friends.  I love the flowers, too!
Amanda also made this cute diaper cake
Sitting around talking - Chris dancing?
I love this picture of the guys and babies
Game time - I'm so glad we all have husbands who are good sports.  I doubt any of them know I have a blog and that their picture ended up on the internet.   - Chris, Matt, Brian, and Adam
The goal was to drink the bottle without using their hands - Chris' pink bib says "Thank Heaven for Little Girls" -- Patrick on the left ended up winning
Adam getting some help from the coffee table
Once again, we were spoiled.  We got some great gifts.

Alex posing with his soon to be best friend
Kristin and Madison - such a cute picture- love the light
Hannah is not too sure about her mom holding another baby
Emma and Alex --Wasn't there a movie with that title?  They are 10 days apart.  They're just too cute!
We did not pose them holding hands.  Alex reached down and grabbed Emma's hand.  Wouldn't it be sweet if they end up getting married?
Sweet Little Madison- love her bright blue eyes!
Cutie Alex - he was so happy
Amanda, Sarah, Me, Julia, Kristin, and Virginia  -- Love these girls!!
I didn't get any pictures of Charlotte!  She's a busy toddler.

Thanks Amanda, Sarah, Julia, and Kristin!  Such a fun shower!  I'm so thankful and love all of you!  I can't wait to have Hudson so I can join their mommy group.

Baby Love: 36 wks

Pregnancy Highlights

Due Date:  11/18/11
Gestational Age:  36 5/7 wks

Once again, excuse the pitiful outfit -I'm all about comfort after work.  I could also use a spray on tan.  I'm pretty proud of myself, I'm still working full-time.  I'm hopefully planning on working right up until the end.
Size of baby:  About 20" and weighed 6 pounds at my ultrasound today - which is perfect.  He is in the 38th percentile.  I'd rather him be a little on the small side.
Morning sickness:  Finally Gone!!  It only took 28 wks of pregnancy for me to feel good and start enjoying being pregnant.
Total weight gain/loss:  10 pounds ~ I'm not really crazy about admitting that, but I want to document and remember as much as possible.  I've been pretty fortunate in that I haven't had any swelling in my legs, but unfortunately my face is quite full.  This may sound crazy, but I'm really looking forward to pounding it out on my treadmill again and I also have several DVD work-out sets I will also be using.
Maternity Clothes:  Oh, yeah - I'm finally in maternity clothes.  I have some wonderful friends that have loaned me some clothes, so I haven't had to buy much.   Thankfully my scrubs still fit, so I'm hoping they last another 3 weeks.
Gender:  Boy!  Hudson Lee  --My dad, Brian's dad, and his brother all have Lee as their middle names, so we thought it would be nice to include all of them.
Highlights of the week:  1.  Ultrasound today.  He is growing well and is the perfect size -so thankful!.  2.  I have another shower on Sunday -I'm really looking forward to hanging out with my girlfriends.  3.  Nursery is 95% complete.  I have one last thing to buy and then I will post pictures.  4.  Had a great date last Friday night with Brian.  We are going on a weekly date until Hudson arrives.  We're taking advantage of our last few weeks as just the two of us.
Lowlights of week:  1. ???Hmm...  Thankfully I can't think of anything.

Here is what I looked like at 25 wks -
 Whoa!  I've really gotten big!

Fun Weekend

Two weekends ago we were back in Indiana.  Chris and Brittney flew in from Texas.  We had such a great time hanging out with everyone.  Too bad the time went really fast.
We met my parents for breakfast.  I finally have a picture with my mom
Why did we take pictures in the parking lot?
From left to right:  Me, Brian, Melissa, Michael, Grandpa C, Grandma C, Chris and Brittney
Brian's parents are included in next picture ---Why am I holding my stomach in all the pictures?  Notice how big I've gotten?
That was the last weekend I could travel - now we're homebound until Hudson makes his appearance, hopefully less than 4 weeks away.

I know I've been a bad blogger, I've been so busy and exhausted.  I would love to do 1 more pregnancy update before Hudson arrives.  I also need to do a couple more things in the nursery and then I'll post pictures.    I'm slowly feeling stressed just typing this thinking of everything I have left to do.

Best News!!

Josh and Julie, who are two of our bestfriends...
are the proud new parents of sweet Kaitlyn Jewel born 10/10/11!!!  We could not be anymore excited for them!  I'm so thankful for this self-less birth mother.  Adoption is a beautiful thing!  Since finding out about an hour ago, I think I've said thank-you to Jesus about 100 times.  What an awesome gift from God!  We're so excited to meet her - unfortunately, last weekend was the last time I can leave our area until Hudson is born.

Congrats Josh and Julie!  We love you!  Can't wait to hug both of you and Auntie Ashley and Uncle Brian can't wait to hug and kiss Miss Kaitlyn!

Compassion

Today is our Compassion girl Uwitewongeye's 10th birthday.  She's just so precious!  She lives in Rwanda with her grandmother.  She lives in a highly affected HIV/AIDS area.  She has brought Brian and I such joy -she's more than worth the $38 a month we give.  It's been great watching her come to know and love Jesus. It's some of the best money we spend - investing in the life of a child.

Happy Birthday, U!  Excited to meet you someday!
Please prayerfully consider sponsoring a child, it really is money well-spent.
