Run for the Refuge

Saturday Brian and I ran the Refuge For Women 5k at our church.  It was the 3rd annual race and it is always a lot of fun.  I ran a few times before the race, but that was it and Brian didn't practice at all.  We actually didn't do too bad.  We finished in the top 1/3.  I can't remember the exact time, but it was decent considering we didn't train.  Brian pushed Hudson in the stroller for probably 2 1/2 miles and I pushed him the last 1/2 mile.  The temp was 50 when we started which is just a little too cool for me.  I had Hudson bundled and wrapped in a blanket.  He loved riding and enjoyed watching everyone.  This is such an important ministry.  They rescue women out of the sex industry, the ladies live in a house with a mentor mom for a year, get counselling, job training, and seriously loved on.
Proverbs 31:10  "For her worth is far above rubies"
The Chick-Fil-A cow was there to cheer us on.  Hudson was so excited to run up and hug him.
Fake Smiler

  1. Lol, the last pic is too funny ... fake smiler.

Our pastor recently mentioned that sex trafficking is a big problem on the west coast especially at San Diego parks. It shocked me because I had never come across any news of this nature. Scary. Also, Just a couple of days ago there were two failed kidnapping attempts somewhere in the Seattle area. I always make sure to keep my kids informed about what is going on that way they can be vigilant.

    Your church sounds amazing.
    Hope your all doing good.

    1. It really is a huge problem all around the world and so scary to think about it happening in your city.
