Falling Behind

I have been a terrible blogger lately.  For one reason, we have been incredibly busy.  For another reason, I have still been in a blogging funk.  Hudson has become so much fun and these past few months and is so...busy and on the go non-stop.  I'm trying to soak up every moment, I know he will only be small for a short time.  He's changing so fast.  I'm so thankful to be home with him everyday -even days he makes me crazy.

A couple of weeks ago, we got a sweet visit from Brian's Grandparents and his Dad.  They spend the winter in Florida and then come back to Indiana in late April every year.  Brian's Dad drives them back and forth.  They stopped and visited for a little while.  It was so great seeing them.  They really are salt of the Earth.
Love this picture of everyone!

Great Grandma got Hudson a pinwheel and he absolutely loves it!  He still blows on it everyday and has everyone else blow on it, too.
Hudson wants to be big like Daddy and is ready to start shaving
Hudson loves the hose!!!!!
Helping Daddy clean the garage
Hudson was collecting rocks and sticking them in his bibs
Hudson took a nasty fall a few weeks ago and got a pretty nasty cut on his chin - poor guy - April was a rough month

Super cool dudes wearing shades

I turned 32 on May 3.  Brian had arranged for some of our friends to babysit Hudson and took me on a really nice date.  We had a great time.   I'm so thankful for a great past year.  I'm loving this decade.
Hudson very sweetly grabbed my hand the other day and held it while we watched some cartoons.  Moments like that melt my heart.

Lunch with friends after church - I love that the two boys are in plaid shirts.
1st haircut --I may have started to tear up when I saw how much he looks like a little boy.  We took him to a great place that has a big slide and cool seats to sit in.
Hudson got to sit in the airplane and watch Curious George
It was funny - he was pretty ticklish when she was shaving him.
Thankfully he sat still and acted like a big boy
Brian also took a lot of pictures- we were some serious paparazzi
The girl cutting his hair was really sweet and quick
At one point he started to tear up, but then he pulled it together and started smiling again
Handsome little guy - he looks older, but his face looks chubbier - I love it!  She gave him a cute little faux hawk-so...cute!
They gave him a balloon at the end and he thought he was Hot Stuff
Afterwards, we went over to some friend's house and had a cookout.  The boys loved playing in the sandbox

Whew!  That was a lot to catch up on.  We're loving the warmer weather and all the time we're getting to spend outside.

Lately

We've had awesome weather for the past couple of weeks, except for today.  We've been busy playing outside.  Hudson wants to be outside ALL DAY and can really pitch a fit when we need to come inside - he's been in timeout a lot because of the fits.
Just a few pictures of the past couple of weeks
We bought a bubble gun last fall for Hudson and it has been his favorite toy lately
I planted some flowers this week and Hudson "helped" me -he was a muddy wet mess by the time we were done

Extra Easter Pix

On Good Friday, Brian took Hudson to Indiana by himself.  I stayed home to do some serious spring house cleaning (it was great!   I shampooed the carpet, washed windows inside and out, dusted everything, shined our kitchen cabinets,... --I'm a dork, I really enjoy cleaning).  They had a quick trip up and came back the next day.

Excited to find another one
The week before they had gotten about 10" of snow and there was a little left in certain spots and Hudson loved it!
He sat right down to play - he gave up on the eggs to play in the snow
He was laughing in this picture
Of course he had to hug everybody
And he had to kiss everybody - love this picture of those two - precious!
Brian changed Hudson into his pajamas before they came back so we could put him right to bed.
Love this picture of both of them - they look so happy!

Our Weekend

We had an awesome weekend!  Our dear friends Dave and Beth from Indiana called us on Thursday and wanted to know if we wanted to meet them at the Cincinnati Zoo on Saturday.  We were free so jumped at the chance to see them.  The weather has finally gotten better here.  Hudson loved the animals.  He also loved being Mr Independent and walking everywhere - he wasn't too happy being in the stroller for long periods of time.
We got lucky - the weather was perfect and a lot of the animals were out and somewhat active
I got this cool shot of Noel and the tiger

I really like this picture of Dave and Brian
Such a cute picture of Beth, Hudson, Noel and Elise
Elise on the carousel - such a cutie
Noel trying to figure out how the carousel works - already a mini engineer
Hudson LOVED riding!!!!  He was laughing and cackling and had the best time.  His expression was pure joy.  Brian and I said that this carousel ride will go down as one of our favorite memories of him.
He waved at me every time he came around
So excited - he just couldn't contain his joy!
Standing in line to get on the train
Hudson gave out lots of hugs - he loved Noel and Elise.  He thought they were really cool.
He couldn't leave Noel out.
On the train
Right before the ride started, Hudson decided he wanted to sit with Beth instead.
Taking a little break
Such sweet kids!
Hudson was starting to get really tired by this point - he lasted 5 hours at the zoo and fell asleep within a minute of being in our van.  We had a great day and it was made even sweeter getting to see our friends.
Sunday before church
Sunday afternoon/early evening we met at our friends' Amanda and Chris' house for a casual get together.   After we all had a chance to eat we walked to the local park and let the kids play.

Last fall Amanda and I got these shirts for the boys from the Ralph Lauren outlet in Gatlinburg.  We even got them on clearance dirt cheap.  I wish I could have gotten better pictures of the boys together but they're both just too busy.
Madison and Hudson on the teeter totter
Love this picture of us!!
On the teeter totter again
Elijah and Hudson
These three were excited to ride back in the wagon.  I love seeing the boys holding hands -I'm sure they'll both hate this picture when they're older

This one cracks me up!
Too sweet and cute!

Such a great weekend spent with great friends!  We are loving the warmer weather!   Hudson is at such a fun age and is loving every new experience.

1st and Hopefully Last ER Visit

Last night right before bedtime Brian and Hudson were playing and he tripped and slammed his head into our side table and he immediately started bleeding and crying.  Brian picked him and I ran in the kitchen and got a towel and put pressure on it.  The cut was right at his left eyebrow.  He didn't know to leave his eye shut and got a lot blood in his eye.  I told Brian we needed to take him to the ER.  I didn't know if he would need stitches or glue or even a CT scan since he hit his head or an antibiotic since he had so much blood in his eye.  On the way to the ER, the bleeding pretty much stopped and I called and talked to his doctor and she said that since the cut was about a centimeter to go ahead and take him to the ER.  Hudson actually did pretty good - he stopped crying before we even left our house.  He did scream loud when we had to hold him down and let the doctor clean it out and put the glue on it.  The ER was amazing!  We got in and out in 1 hr and 10 minutes.

At the ER
Getting tired
I put this t-shirt on him today because I thought he was pretty tough.
Hopefully that's our last ER visit.  I'm thankful he's okay because it could have been a lot worse.
