Our Weekend

We had an awesome weekend!  Our dear friends Dave and Beth from Indiana called us on Thursday and wanted to know if we wanted to meet them at the Cincinnati Zoo on Saturday.  We were free so jumped at the chance to see them.  The weather has finally gotten better here.  Hudson loved the animals.  He also loved being Mr Independent and walking everywhere - he wasn't too happy being in the stroller for long periods of time.
We got lucky - the weather was perfect and a lot of the animals were out and somewhat active
I got this cool shot of Noel and the tiger

I really like this picture of Dave and Brian
Such a cute picture of Beth, Hudson, Noel and Elise
Elise on the carousel - such a cutie
Noel trying to figure out how the carousel works - already a mini engineer
Hudson LOVED riding!!!!  He was laughing and cackling and had the best time.  His expression was pure joy.  Brian and I said that this carousel ride will go down as one of our favorite memories of him.
He waved at me every time he came around
So excited - he just couldn't contain his joy!
Standing in line to get on the train
Hudson gave out lots of hugs - he loved Noel and Elise.  He thought they were really cool.
He couldn't leave Noel out.
On the train
Right before the ride started, Hudson decided he wanted to sit with Beth instead.
Taking a little break
Such sweet kids!
Hudson was starting to get really tired by this point - he lasted 5 hours at the zoo and fell asleep within a minute of being in our van.  We had a great day and it was made even sweeter getting to see our friends.
Sunday before church
Sunday afternoon/early evening we met at our friends' Amanda and Chris' house for a casual get together.   After we all had a chance to eat we walked to the local park and let the kids play.

Last fall Amanda and I got these shirts for the boys from the Ralph Lauren outlet in Gatlinburg.  We even got them on clearance dirt cheap.  I wish I could have gotten better pictures of the boys together but they're both just too busy.
Madison and Hudson on the teeter totter
Love this picture of us!!
On the teeter totter again
Elijah and Hudson
These three were excited to ride back in the wagon.  I love seeing the boys holding hands -I'm sure they'll both hate this picture when they're older

This one cracks me up!
Too sweet and cute!

Such a great weekend spent with great friends!  We are loving the warmer weather!   Hudson is at such a fun age and is loving every new experience.

1st and Hopefully Last ER Visit

Last night right before bedtime Brian and Hudson were playing and he tripped and slammed his head into our side table and he immediately started bleeding and crying.  Brian picked him and I ran in the kitchen and got a towel and put pressure on it.  The cut was right at his left eyebrow.  He didn't know to leave his eye shut and got a lot blood in his eye.  I told Brian we needed to take him to the ER.  I didn't know if he would need stitches or glue or even a CT scan since he hit his head or an antibiotic since he had so much blood in his eye.  On the way to the ER, the bleeding pretty much stopped and I called and talked to his doctor and she said that since the cut was about a centimeter to go ahead and take him to the ER.  Hudson actually did pretty good - he stopped crying before we even left our house.  He did scream loud when we had to hold him down and let the doctor clean it out and put the glue on it.  The ER was amazing!  We got in and out in 1 hr and 10 minutes.

At the ER
Getting tired
I put this t-shirt on him today because I thought he was pretty tough.
Hopefully that's our last ER visit.  I'm thankful he's okay because it could have been a lot worse.

Happy Resurrection Day!

Isaiah 53:5  "He was pierced for our transgressions, he was crushed for our inequities, the punishment that brought us peace was on him, and by his wounds we are healed."

I'm so thankful for Jesus and His unfailing love for me.  I'm thankful for second chances, I'm thankful that I'm a new creation --there's just so much that I'm thankful for.

I love the song "Jesus paid it all, All to Him I owe, sin had left a crimson stain, He washed it white as snow.  O Praise the One who paid my debt and raised this life up from the dead."

Mark 16:6  "He is not here.  He is risen!"

1 John 3:16  "This is how we know what love is:  Jesus Christ laid down his life for us.  And we ought to lay down our lives for our brothers and sisters."

Happy Resurrection Day!

Nana Visit

My Mom came down this week for a visit.  Sadly my Dad had to work, so he wasn't able to come.  We had the Best time!  We played, shopped, ate, and colored Easter eggs.  Hudson didn't have a clue what was going on, but enjoyed dropping the eggs in the cups.

Showing off all the pretty eggs
Hudson gave my Mom lots and lots of kisses and hugs
Hudson had a great time with his Nana!
I wish I had taken more pictures.  I didn't have my camera out at all until my Mom was ready to leave.  It was really hard saying goodbye and watching her leave.   It was so...good having her here.

Catch-Up

St. Patrick's Day - just before leaving for church
Sweet Kisses from Hudson
Last weekend Brian's parents came down for the weekend.  Brian's Dad helped Brian lay hardwood flooring.  They brought Hudson a pair of sunglasses.  Here is Mr. Cool Dude.
They also brought him a fun puzzle and a cool spinning toy
The weather was decent so Mary and I took Hudson on a walk.
The new flooring in our breakfast nook - Hudson loved helping clean up.
We had such a great visit with Brian's parents!  It's always so good seeing family.  Of course, Hudson loves all the extra special attention, as well.   I'm so thankful that Brian and his Dad are such great carpenters/handymen.

Easter Egg Hunt

Today our church had its annual Easter Egg Hunt.  We signed Hudson up for it not knowing if he'd like it or know what to do.  Much to our surprise, he had a great time!  Hudson was excited to check everything out.

Brian teaching Hudson what to do.

Hudson quickly picked up the idea

Racing for the pink egg

His basket got so full, I had to help him out a little

Two little love birds- Alex and Madison
We tried getting a picture of the three kids, but that was pretty difficult.
We couldn't get a single kid to look at us

Somebody's eggs got spilled and they were all busy helping pick them back up.

Hudson checking out his big score
  Man on a mission
Hudson walked right up to the Easter Egg Bunny!
He even let him pick him up.
We tried to get all 3 kids to pose with the bunnies, but Madison wasn't having it, so Kristin had to pose with them.
We had such a great time!
My two favorite guys! -- I love Hudson's Easter outfit!
This picture really shows Hudson's personality -he's wild and busy!  I'm not sure what I am doing.
Hudson loves the glider!  He was too obsessed with it to look up and smile for a picture.

Lately

I have been  in a blogging funk lately, plus since it's winter so things aren't too exciting -we do the same things day after day.

Last week Hudson tripped and hit his head and he ended up with a big goose egg.  Poor guy handled it well and didn't cry much.  Sadly, this was the best picture  I got of him.

I think little boys in bibs is just about the cutest thing in the world.

Sunday was almost 70 degrees so we went on a long walk along Lexington's Legacy Trail.  We passed hundreds of bikers and walkers. - this is the start of the trail.
Hudson loved this tall grass
