Another Winter Storm

Last week we were hit with another storm and got 17" of snow.  17"!!!  Lexington is not equipped to handle that much snow and EVERYTHING was closed down.   Until the end of February, we were actually having a really mild winter, but then everything changed.
We had plenty of play time.
Brian and Hudson built an igloo.

Our neighbor let us borrow his snowblower

We're ready for Spring!  Thankfully it's going to be 65 degrees today!  Yay!  Go away winter!

Snowmageddon Pics

My super talented friend and neighbor took some pictures for us the other day.  We braved the elements and took some quick shots.  I think we were in and out in about 5 minutes.
Our pretty neighborhood
So I've decided my hair looks awful!  I've had my natural color for the past almost 6 months (I've tried to keep my hair simple with the boys) but I'm now ready to go back to light blonde after seeing these pictures.  Plus, I really need some color, I look so pale.
My sweet little guy
Trying to get Hudson to smile for 1 picture
Beckett was thinking, "Would you hurry up and smile so we can get back inside?!!"
Thanks, Amanda!  I'm really glad we got out and got some nice family photos.

Winter Storm Octavia

Winter Storm Octavia hit Lexington/Central Kentucky yesterday and dumped 10.1" snow.  It snowed from 6 am to 6 pm and it snowed hard!  It was beautiful to watch, plus it's the fluffy powdery snow, we usually have wetter, heavy snow.
I tried getting a family picture- well, I got 3 of us looking at the camera and smiling.

Brian worked from home and got out 3 different times to shovel our driveway.   Hudson was "helping"

The city is pretty much shut down.   The governor declared a state of emergency.  Doctor offices, the mall, Kroger, plus a a ton of other businesses are closed.  We have yet to see a plow.
Hudson enjoyed being thrown in the snow.

I got a cool shot of Brian jumping in the snow

What a fun time!  Looks like we'll be snowed in a little longer

Happy 7 months

~Beckett~
You're 7 months old!  How did that happen?  We really feel like time is flying much faster with you than it did with Hudson.

You're still a sweet, happy guy, but have started demanding more of our attention and are less tolerant of being down too long.
I'm so in love with your beautiful blue eyes, I hope they stay that color.

Sleep is still hit or miss.   You were doing good, but got another ear infection and have been back to waking 1-2 x/night. You sleep about 11.5 hrs at night.  You're down to 2 naps/day.  I forgot to mention this last month, but you very sweetly "sing/hum" yourself to sleep at nap time.  You poor thing - you've been sick nearly non-stop since the beginning of November.

You are harder to photograph these days because you want to be on the go and into everything.
You are mostly sitting on your own now, every now and then you reach for something and topple over.
You are still the happiest baby I've ever seen and everyone agrees with me.  You laugh so hard at your brother and the cutest little things make you laugh.  You still squeal and screech very loudly.

You're starting to show a little stranger anxiety, you pucker your lips out and are on the verge of crying.

You are my fair weather boy, you gasp when we walk outside and it's cold and you quickly lose your patience if I don't get back inside quickly.
You roll everywhere and can pretty much get what you want that way, so I'm not sure when you'll start crawling.
You still drool non-stop and wear 2 bibs at a time and still aren't showing any signs of teeth.
Hudson is a Daddy's Boy, but I think you're going to be a Momma's Boy.  You love being held and carried around.

You've really started noticing the dogs and have taken an interest in them.  They usually get up and leave by the time you've rolled over to them.
At your doctor visit last week, you weighed 17#.
You had your first little accident two nights ago and it was all my fault.  You were sitting between my legs on the floor while I was talking to your daddy and you started to fall over and I reached down to catch you, but instead, I cut your nose with my fingernail and hit your nose pretty hard and you hit your head on the floor.  Your poor nose bled on the outside and the inside for quite a while.  I was afraid I broke your nose.  I felt/feel awful.  Thankfully you're a little toughie and handled it well and didn't cry for too long.

We started you on Avocados and you hated them initially, but love them now.  We have also tried bananas and green beans and you tolerated them, but now have grown to really enjoy them.  You are finally eating cereal better and really seem to enjoy it.
Life is so nice with you in it.
I thought I'd try and get a few pictures with this balloon but you were so fascinated with it, you stopped looking at me
I love this picture of my two boys

We're so thankful for you and love you so much!  You are such a little joy and treasure and a sweet little blessing.  We pray big things for both you and your brother.

Another Fun Weekend

Brian's parents came for the weekend and we had a blast.  They were very kind to watch the boys and let Brian and me go on a date.  We had amazing weather and were able to be outside quite a bit.

Hudson wanted to be in on our picture.
One day all 4 of us will be smiling at the same time and we'll get a good family picture - also, ignore the mess on the bottom of our fireplace
We tried to get a picture of the 4 of them - not so successful
We love having family come down and spend time with us and the boys love it too!  Miss you guys already!
Still no luck

We walked to the park and played for a little while.  Beckett sat by me and smiled and laughed the whole time Hudson was playing
First time on the swings - he loved it part of the time and was unsure part of the time
Another fun weekend

Fun Weekend

We had a great weekend with my parents.  They were so much fun to hang out with, we miss them terribly already.
Hudson showing my dad a thing or two on the computer.
Grandpa rocking Beckett to sleep
Nana sitting with her boys
Beckett excited to be sitting with Nana and Grandpa
Love my sweet mom!
Love my parents so much and miss them something awful when they're not here.

Happy 6 months

~Beckett~
Happy 6 months!

You're still our happy, lovely baby.  We tried starting you on rice cereal a couple of weeks ago, but you broke out in a rash right away, so we waited a week and tried oatmeal cereal and you hated it.   You gag and spit it out and are definitely not a fan.  You act like you're starving and want something, but just aren't sure of it, yet.  We're not used to a baby that doesn't like food.

Sleep is still an issue.  Every 4 or 5 days, you'll sleep all night, but the other nights, you're up once or twice.  We've tried letting you cry it out, but that's not going so well.  We just don't know what to do to get you to sleep all night.  We're just so tired!!!

We've just switched you over to size 3 diapers.  You weigh 16 lbs 14 ox =39%
Your length is 28" = 91%.
Your head is in the 28%.
You still have beautiful blue eyes and light hair.

1 week before you turned 6 months, you started turning from your back to your stomach and then from your stomach to your back and have barrel rolled a few times.  I think you're excited to start playing with your brother.
I love this sweet, chubby picture.

You are still super smiley and talk and jabber a lot and squeal/scream a lot.  No teeth, yet and are still SUPER drooly.  You still wear 2 bibs at a time.  You still haven't taken to your paci, you chomp on it, but have never sucked on it.
You can kind of sit on your own for a minute or two and then topple over.  It's been another month of sickness.  At your 6 month appt, the doctor found a bad ear infection - poor thing, I feel awful.
I love this little GAP outfit, it's so comfy and warm, you wear it a lot.  I accidentally scratched you in the corner of your right eye.  Your hair is kind of growing in a mohawk type shape.
You are such a sweet, lovable blessing!  We continue to pray big things for you.   You're such a joy!  We love you!
