Thursday: Venice to Salzburg

Another picture of the mountains on the border between Italy and Austria. Not sure what range this is. Maybe the Dolomites?

View from train of a village in the mountains.

Someone was doing a photo-shoot of the new Aston-Martin Rapide in front of the concert hall. Very cool!

Fountain in square at base of mountain with the Hohensalzburg Fortress above.

View of the old city center from the pedestrian bridge over the Salzach River in Salzburg, Austria.

We spent most of the day traveling from Venice to Salzburg. First we got on a double-decker bus in Venice and it took us to a city just inside Austria called Villach. From there we got on the train and went to Salzburg. The bus was great. It was very nice and we had an awesome view from the second level. The train ride to Salzburg was also pleasant. It was very quiet and smooth. The views as we passed through the mountains were amazing. Once in Salzburg we wandered around the old city for a while and had dinner at a place called SternBrau. Since the whole menu was in German we both got Wiener Schnitzel which we liked.
